Nozzle Ionizers
SMC offers two industrial static control options for compact or confined target treatment areas. The IZN Nozzle Ionizer is a palm-sized, self-contained static control device with a cable for PLC I/O and power supply connections. The IZT43 pairs a smaller ionizing head with separate power supply and control modules, for even more confined applications up to 3m from the operator's workstation.
IZN10E, Ionizer, Nozzle Type
The IZN10E is SMC's nozzle ionizer. The nozzle ionizer emits an air-assisted cone of static eliminating ions for focused targets 2 inches or smaller, up to 20 inches away. The nozzle can be used with an optional sensor and monitor to suspend emission when static elimination is complete, or when the target is not present. Available with a high flow or enery saving nozzle, or female threads to attach an accessory. The cartridge can be removed without tools for needle cleaning or replacement. Slim, compact design is suitable for installation in tight spaces.
- Ion balance to +/-10v (range dependent)
- Operates from 24VDC, with internal high voltage power supply for ion generation
- Available manifold and bracket mounting styles
- Electrode needle contamination detector built in
- Available diffusion nozzles, or straight or bendable bar nozzles
- Meets CE, UL, CSA and RoHS standards
IZN10, Electrode Cartridge Assembly
Replacement electrode cartridge for the Series IZN10 nozzle ionizer. Electrode needle assembly included.
- Replacement electrode cartridge for IZN10 nozzle ionizer
- IZN10-NT Electrode needle assembly included
- Output: NPN or PNP
IZT43, Nozzle Ionizer, Separate Controller and Power Supply Module
The IZT43 nozzle ionizer combines a compact emitter head with separate controller and power supply modules to enable static control treatment in spaces with limited clearance. When an air supply is connected to the built-in fitting, the nozzle can project a cone of static eliminating ions toward a target up to 2000mm/6.5 ft away. The application of treatment from a single nozzle saves expensive compressed air compared to a multi-emitter bar, ideal for smaller targets. Static removal is also possible at a closer distance with no air supply. The nozzle can be located up to 3m/9.8 ft from the controller, for remote settings and monitoring at the operator's workstation. Control parameters include AC or DC ion emission mode, ion generation frequency, and offset voltage adjustment. Feedback includes an adjustable emitter contamination alarm, 10 operational alarms, frequency and balance displays, and channel indicator. Setup keys can be locked for security. Ion generation can be stopped via input signal. Extending the value of IZT43, one controller can manage a maximum of 4 ionizing nozzles. Separation cables of up to 3m/9.8 ft allow a flexible layout of power supplies for a multi-nozzle installation. IZT nozzles and bars can be combined for further flexibility. Emitter cartridges are easily removed without tools, for cleaning or end-of-life replacement. Individual cables and nozzle bodies are also available as spare parts to replace if damaged.
- Power supply voltage: 24 VDC ±10%
- Static charge control: +/-30V or less, with auto-balancing
- Cartridges: high speed or energy saving, with tungsten emitters
- One-touch fittings: ø6mm (metric) or ø1/4" (inch), straight or elbow
- 2 bracket styles for nozzle mounting
- DIN rail brackets available for controller and power supply
IZT43-L, Nozzle Ionizer, Separate Controller and Power Supply Module with IO-Link
The IZT-L nozzle ionizer combines a compact emitter head with separate controller and power supply modules to enable static control treatment in spaces with limited clearance. When an air supply is connected to the built-in fitting, the nozzle can project a cone of static eliminating ions toward a target up to 2000mm/6.5 ft away. A nozzle ionizer is ideal for smaller targets and economizes compressed air consumption. Static removal is also possible at a closer distance with no air supply. The nozzle can be located up to 3m/9.8 ft from the controller, for remote settings and monitoring at the operator's workstation. This version is also IO-Link compatible. IO-Link features include communication of function warnings and failures, setting and reporting emitter maintenance detection, and setting and reporting various ion generation parameters.
- Power supply voltage: 24 VDC ± 10%
- Static charge control: +/-30V or less, with auto-balancing

IZTN43, Nozzle Ionizer
The IZTN43 nozzle ionizer is the ion emitting component of the IZT43 static control system. This component is available individually as an additional nozzle to expand an existing system, or as a replacement. A complete system consists of 1 to 4 nozzles, an IZTP power supply module for each nozzle, and a single IZTC controller, plus cables and accessories as required. Note that a IZT system can also combine a mixture of up to 4 IZTN nozzles and IZTB bars operated by 1 controller. All components can be ordered separately.
- Includes 1, 2, or 3m high voltage cable with cable holders
- Cartridges: high speed or energy saving, with tungsten emitters
- One-touch fittings: ø6mm (metric) or ø1/4" (inch), straight or elbow
- 2 bracket styles for nozzle mounting
IZTP, High-voltage Power Supply Module
The IZTP power supply module is the high-voltage source component for the IZT static control system. Modules generate ions in AC (+/- blended ions), DC (fixed polarity ions), or Dual AC (low amplitude +/- blended ions) mode, depending on selection and as directed by the controller. This component is available individually to expand an existing system, or as a replacement. A complete system consists of any mixture of 1 to 4 IZTB bars and/or IZTN nozzles, an IZTP power supply module for each ionizer, and a single IZTC controller, plus cables and accessories as required. All components can be ordered separately. IO-Link capable systems will require power supply modules and the controller to IO-Link enabled.
- Converts 24VDC power to 6000V or 7000V for ion generation at the emitters
- 4 module types, depending on the ionizer to be paired (model 40 not available with IO-Link)
- DIN rail bracket optional
IZTC, Controller
The IZTC controller is the operating component for the IZT static control system. This component is available for individual selection as a replacement or to upgrade a system from the standard IZT40 bar system to a system with auto balance and operation feedback, Dual AC, or mixed IZTB bars and IZTN nozzles. A complete system consists of any mixture of 1 to 4 IZTB bars and/or IZTN nozzles, and IZTP power supply module for each bar, and a single IZTC controller, plus cables and accessories as required. All components can be ordered separately. IO-Link capable systems will require power supply modules and the controller to be IO-Link enabled.
