It supports non-industrial and industrial communications on a common network infrastructure.

Custom Add-On Profile (AOP) for RSLogix™ 5000 are available for EX250, EX260, EX500 products. AOP enable users to easily configure SMC fieldbus products with Logix based PLC
Valve and I/O
EX250 Integrated Type for I/O
EX250 is a serial interface unit controlling up to 32 solenoids and 32 inputs. This serial interface is compatible with series SY, JSY, VQC, SV and S0700 valves. Available protocols include DeviceNet™, CC-Link, AS-i, PROFIBUS-DP®, and CANopen.
EX260 SI Unit
EX260 series is a compact and cost effective fieldbus solution for output applicable to SMC's most popular directional control valves such as New SY, SV, VQC, and S0700 Series. It can control up to 32 solenoids in one manifold. Available protocols are EtherNet/IP™, Profinet®, EtherCAT®, PROFIBUS DP®, DeviceNet™ and CC-Link. EX260 series has standard dual port connectivity to eliminate the need of switches or branch connector, reducing wiring and component cost. IP67 enclosure rating ensures protection against dust and washdown environment.
EX500 - Distributed I/O
EX500 a gateway unit to connect EtherNet/IP™, DeviceNet™, and Profibus DP® to SMC valves and digital inputs for sensors for distributed I/O system. Each gateway can control up to 8 valve manifolds and 8 input blocks, with maximum of 128 outputs and 128 inputs. EX500-GEN2 supports Device level Ring (DLR) and EtherNet/IP™ Quick Connect function. The gateway module has IP65 protection while valve modules and input blocks have IP67 protection ensuring protection against dust and washdown environment.
EX600 - Modular Platform
The EX600 serial interface offers a full suite of diagnostics and programmable parameters to meet the most stringent requirements. The EX600 offers excellent flexibility including digital input, digital output and analog input unit options. With the use of D-sub output blocks, a maximum of 9 remote D-sub manifolds can be attached to one EX600 communication module. This serial interface is compatible with series SV1000/2000/3000, VQC1000/2000/4000, S0700 and the new SY series valves. Available protocols include PROFIBUS-DP®, DeviceNet™, CC-Link, Ethernet I/P™ and EtherCAT®, PROFINET, POWELINK and CC-Link IE Field™
EX600-W Wireless Communication
The EX600 serial interface offers a full suite of diagnostics and programmable parameters to meet the most stringent requirements. The EX600 offers excellent flexibility including digital input, digital output and analog input unit options. With the use of D-sub output blocks, a maximum of 9 remote D-sub manifolds can be attached to one EX600 communication module. This serial interface is compatible with series SV1000/2000/3000, VQC1000/2000/4000, S0700 and the new SY series valves. Available protocols include Ethernet/IP™, PROFINET. The EX600 wireless cannot be used in countries where wireless is not supported. Refer to the catalog for details of countries where wireless is supported.
ITV - Electro-Pneumatic Regulator
Series ITV is an electro-pneumatic regulator that controls air pressure with an electric signal. This EtherNet/IP version, designed and built in SMC's North American headquarters, now includes a 2nd generation chipset with new features and upgrades. The new design is CE and UL certified, while also meeting the ODVA specification. The IP address can now be set with a DIP switch. An integrated 2-port switch, Quick Connect, and Device Level Ring allow this ITV to operate in typical manufacturing network topologies. If the installation requires more than one regulator, the ITVs can be daisy chained. Power over Ethernet is available for up to 5 units. The new dynamic web page design includes pressure settings and feedback in engineering units. Gain and sensitivity can also be adjusted. Expanded fault diagnostics and alarm enable quicker troubleshooting for reduced downtime. In the event of a lost connection, the regulator holds the set point pressure to maintain the machine's operation.
